The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity is gearing up for another record-breaking year, reaffirming its status as the World’s Richest Reining.
The 2024 NRHA Open Futurity purse has reached a record across Levels 4-1 at a staggering $2.26 million, with more than $3 million in payouts across the open and non pro for the first time in history.
After two days of electric semi-final competition, the action came to a close, determining the finalists heading to the NRHA Open Futurity Finals that will take place in the Jim Norick Coliseum on Saturday, December 7.
As the dust settles, Italian NRHA Professional Mirko Midili and Mark My Word lead the way into the MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Open Finals. NRHA Corporate Partner 7 Lakes Ranch’s resident trainer and the stallion earned a 224 to land at the top of the Level 4 Open Semi-Finals. The duo also earned the highest score of the first go with a 226, securing their spot in the finals with a composite score of 450.
The palomino stallion, owned by Janice Laney, is the offspring of two NRHA Hall of Famers – Gunnatrashya and Wimpys Little Chic, both owned by NRHA Corporate Partner Arcese Quarter Horses USA. The NRHA $3 Million Owner, Arcese, also bred and nominated Mark My Word.
Leaders for each level heading into a clean-slate finals are:
Level 4 Leader: Mirko Midili on Mark My Word with a composite score of 450
Level 3 Co-Leader: Franco Bertolani and Vulcano with a composite score of 442.5
Level 3 Co-Leader and Level 2 Leader: Joao Felipe Lacerda and Be The One Again with a composite score of 442.5
Level 1 Leader: Leonardo Kellermann and Frozen Starburst with a composite score of 440
Prime Time Leader: Shawn Flarida and TR Gunna Dream with a composite score of 447
The NRHA Professionals will draw for their order in the finals on Thursday, December 5, at 8 a.m. during the Platinum Performance Draw Party.
Join us at the OKC Fairgrounds on December 7 for the Open Levels 3-1 Finals, which begins at 9 a.m., and the MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Open Finals, which starts at 6 p.m.

CINCH Non Pro Futurity Finals
With the conclusion of the CINCH Non Pro Futurity Consolation, the list of finalists is set. NRHA Hall of Famer Mandy McCutcheon earned the high score in the Adequan® Arena on The Late Nite Show (Gunners Special Nite x Dun It At Starbucks), a mare owned by her and her husband, Tom, who is also an NRHA $2 Million Owner, and nominated by Shawn Stratman.
All non pro finalists will be introduced in the Jim Norick Coliseum before the Military and Futurity Slide tomorrow, December 4. Please be in the alleyway at 1:30 p.m. to line up to be honored in the arena.
