2024 NRHA Futurity Continues Toward Finals

The historic Jim Norick Coliseum saw more action today, where additional open riders rose to the top of multiple levels.

NRHA $4 Million Rider Casey Deary rode King Arthur II to a 224.5 to tie for the lead of the Open Level 4 and American Paint Horse Association (APHA) Chrome Cash preliminary round with NRHA $4 Million Rider Jason Vanlandingam.

The Curtis Performance Horses LLC-bred and nominated stallion is owned by the Malson/Arcese/Mclain partnership. The stallion is by NRHA Hall of Famer Gunnatrashya and out of the Shesouttayourleague, the youngest mare to reach NRHA Million Dollar Dam status, and the 2015 NRHA Level (L) 4 Open Futurity Champion and 2017 NRHA L4 Open Derby Champion, both with Deary at the reins.

Vanlandingam rode I Got Ur Back in the first section to a 224.5. The 3-year-old stallion was bred and nominated by Green Valley Ranch and is owned by Mark Johnson.

In the Adequan®  Arena, section one of the North American Affiliate Championships (NAAC) Non Pro, NAAC Limited Non Pro, NAAC Prime Time Non Pro and NAAC Masters Non Pro began. The day concluded with three riders atop the leaderboard with a score of 223: Madison Rafacz, Wyatt Deary and Joetta Bell. The Adequan®  NAAC titles for the aforementioned classes will be awarded tomorrow, November 28, after section two concludes.
