2025 NRHA Futurity Open Champions

The 2025 NRHA Futurity® paid more than $2.7 million in the open finals alone. After a week of top-notch competition, the stage was set for the 2025 NRHA MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Open Futurity finals. If we learned anything from 2025, it’s that the quality of competition in reining is at an all-time high.

2025 NRHA Futurity Open Champions:

MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Champions: Casey Deary and Belissimo

Casey Deary and the Arcese Quarter Horses USA bred, owned and nominated Belissimo (Magnum Chic Dream x Americasnextgunmodel) closed the finals with a bang. A monster 231.5 is what it took to clinch the MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Open Futurity Championship and a check for $350,000. Deary also tied for reserve and earned $130,000 with Maverickbuzthetower (Americasnexttopgun x Chics Vintage Flare) owned by Bosque Ranch Performance Horses LLC, bred by Spradling Unlimited LLC and nominated by Glenn Spradling; not to mention another $25,000 with Hello Pretty Woman (Walla Walla Whiz x Americasnextgunmodel) owned, bred and nominated by Arcese Quarter Horses USA. The total check of $505,000 pushed Deary over the NRHA $6 Million Rider mark. Casey wasn’t the only Deary to take home a piece of the pie—his son, Owen, won more than $102,000 in the Non Pro division a day before.

Levels 3 & 2 Champions: Rodrigo Nieves and A Vintage Kiss

Rodrigo Nieves and A Vintage Kiss (A Vintage Smoke x Gunna Kissya), owned by Maren Simonet Henderson and nominated by breeder Sergio Elia, dominated the Level 2 qualifiers all week with a 439 composite score. The duo also sealed the championship with a 222.5 in the Open Levels 3-2 Futurity finals to take the titles.

Level 3 Challenge Champions: Marcelo Almeida da Silva and HF The Topgun Chic

Marcelo Almeida da Silva and HF The Topgun Chic (Americasnexttopgun x Wimpys Lil Tag), owned by Stoney Russell and nominated by breeder Heritage Farms, marked an impressive 221 in the second section of the NRHA Open Futurity Finals to get a piece of the $3.7M.

Level 2 Challenge Champion: Dakin Allred and Mr Jo Cool

Dakin Allred and Mr Jo Cool (Colonels Shining Gun x Cooldrinkawalla), owned by Tatyana Riley, bred by Erin Stueve and nominated by Allred, topped the Open Level 2 Challenge with a strong 219.5 in the first section of the Open Finals.

Level 1 Champions: Douglas Noveti De Oliveira and All Twos

Douglas Noveti De Oliveira and All Twos (Colonels Shining Gun x Ruby Chic Olena), owned, bred and nominated by Thiago Boechat, captured the Open Level 1 Championship after marking a 216 in the first section of the Open Futurity Finals—a score that held through the remainder of the day.

Level 1 Challenge Co-Champions: Roberto Jou and Jo Jos Rockin / Summer Opinker and Dry Bones Rattling

Roberto Jou and Jo Jos Rockin (Lil Joe Cash x Shes Got Good Guns), owned, bred and nominated by Roxanne Koespell, marked a 215.5 to set the early standard in the Level 1 Challenge. Summer Opinker matched that score aboard Dry Bones Rattling (Patriot x Annie Bee Elegant), owned and nominated by Heather Ruble. The pair tied for the Level 1 Challenge Co-Championship.

Prime Time and Prime Time Challenge Champion: Brian Bell and See Tinsel Spark

Brian Bell and Cee Tinsel Spark (Spooks Gotta Spark x Cee Miss Tinsel) owned, nominated and bred by George and Carol Bell marked a strong 222 in section 2 of the NRHA Open Futurity Finals to secure the win in the Prime Time and Prime Time Challenge.

Records Were Broken

More than $5M was paid out throughout the 2025 NRHA Futurity®, and it is only up from here. This year marked many milestones — from first champions crowned in the new OG&E Coliseum to multiple million-dollar milestones crossed. Andrea Fappani split 4th aboard Gunners Smokin Chex (Gunner x Chexanicki) owned by Tim Anderson and Clark Reining Horses LLC, bred and nominated by Toyon Ranch LLC and was 7th on Americas MVP (Walla Walla Whiz x Americasnextgunmodel) owned by Tim Anderson and Clark Reining Horses LLC, bred by Arcese Quarter Horses USA and nominated by Green Valley Ranch, making Fappani the first ever $10 Million Rider in NRHA history.
